A real ‘who’s who’ of all those CDs you bought in the 90s…
Dublin’s 3Arena – not to be confused with the renamed Olympia Theatre – will reopen in considerable nostalgic style next month.
If you ever picked up a Now! That’s What I Call Music or a Euphoria album back in the glorious 1990s, you’ll be familiar with a good few of the acts here.
The ‘Biggest 90s Disco Party’ will welcome the following:
- 2 Unlimited
- Alice Deejay
- Crystal Waters
- DJ ATB
- Atomic Kitten
- DJ Sash
- Gala
- Layzee ft. Mr President
- N-Trance
- No Mercy
- Real 2 Real ft. Mad Stuntmen
- Rednex
- Robin S
- Rozalla
- Spice Girls Show
- Vengaboys
- Whigfield
The gig takes place on Saturday, 23 October, one day after all Covid-19 restrictions are set to be lifted in the Republic of Ireland. Frankly, this seems like the only conceivable way to celebrate.
‘Where were you when society went back to normal?’
‘I was at an Atomic Kitten gig, mate.’
The bash also promises fancy dress, flash mobs, confetti, fireworks and “many more special effects and surprises” so just remember to not get too overwhelmed and be sound to one another. It’s been a long 18 months.
Event organisers note that “due to the nature of the event”, the line-up is subject to change. Fingers crossed everyone makes it over okay.
Tickets priced from €60 are on sale now via Ticketmaster and usual outlets nationwide.
