The music of Michael Bublé has also been banned from the establishment.

December 25 is fast approaching and, as always, the closer we get to the big day, the more festive songs we hear.

Arguably, the most inescapable of all Christmas tunes is Mariah Carey’s smash-hit perennial classic ‘All I Want for Christmas is You’.

However, those looking for a respite from hearing the anthem can head down to Jolene’s, a popular bar located in Sydney, Australia.

Described as a “Nashville-inspired, cocktail, American whiskey and live music bar”, the establishment has instituted a ban on the track, as well as on the music of festive crooner Michael Bublé.

Speaking to The Daily Telegraph earlier in the week, Jolene’s owner Simon Rose-Hopkins stated: “We’ve got a country Christmas playlist, but we won’t be playing Mariah.”

Instead, patrons of the bar can expect to hear Christmas carols from the likes of country singers Blake Shelton, Dolly Parton and Lee Kernaghan.

“It’s been met with giggles and admiration,” Rose-Hopkins said of the playlist.

“We get a lot of retail workers coming in after their stores close and saying thank you because they are so over hearing the traditional retail Christmas music.”

You also couldn’t accuse of Rose-Hopkins of being a Grinch either, as he has promised his bar will be doing “Christmas on steroids”.

Along with “lights, reindeers and Christmas trees,” he told the publication that Jolene’s will have Christmas cocktails on offer including Gingerbread Manhattans and Pavlova Christmas slushies.

Now, it’s time to Google cheap flights to Sydney…
