Biggest 90’s Disco gig in 3Arena will go ahead but as a fully seated event

The change comes after the announcement of the country’s revised reopening plan.

The organisers of the Biggest 90’s Disco gig, due to take place at the 3Arena this weekend, have confirmed that it will go ahead but as a fully seated event.

Taking place on Saturday, 23 October, the “immersive music experience” was announced last month to be the first major 3Arena gig post-lockdown, as restrictions ease on the Friday before.

Acts set to perform on the night include Gala, 2 Unlimited, Alice Deejay, DJ ATB, Robin S, Vengaboys, Whigfield and Atomic Kitten.

However, while the event had sold standing tickets, organisers have said it will now be a fully seated event, following the government’s new guidelines which state that for indoor live music, drama, sport or entertainment of any kind, audience members should be fully seated.

This change comes amid a recent rise in Covid-19 cases and hospitalisations.

In a statement, the organisers of the gig explained that all standing tickets sold will be exchanged for seated tickets on a first-come, first-served basis on the evening of 23 October.

Also, as part of the government’s announcement on Tuesday, Covid-19 passes and face coverings are required for those attending live music events indoors, although masks can be removed to consume food or drinks.

In line with this, the organisers of the Biggest 90’s Disco event have said attendees will need a Covid pass with proof of ID and that masks will be required in all public areas.

To facilitate checks and ticket exchanges, doors will now open for the concert from 5.30pm.

Tickets for the gig are still available from Ticketmaster here.
