These Australian lads like their beards. A lot.
The Beards, with bearded band members Johann Beardraven, John Beardman Jr, Nathaniel Beard and Facey McStubblington, have, since 2005, impressively written brilliant comedy folk songs based soley on the virtues of having a beard.
That comes as no surprise really as, for the past number of years in particular, beards have been slowly growing in popularity… as well as just slowly growing.
Although JOE has just stubbled stumbled upon the band’s latest single, ‘Beard Accessory Store’, it really is also worth checking out the their bearded back catalogue which includes tracks like ‘If Your Dad Doesn’t Have A Beard, You’ve Got Two Mums’, ‘I’m In The Mood… For Beards’, and our own personal furry favourite, ‘You Should Consider Having Sex With A Bearded Man.’
This new single tells the tragic tale of one man’s eviction from his ‘Beard Accessory Store’, resulting in our forlorn hero singing his sorry story to anyone who will listen, willingly or not. Big shout out to the poor kid getting his beard-time story angrily read to him…
Sure, the whole thing’s a little creepy and slightly murderous but look on the bright side – it’s got loads of beards.
So enjoy the class video below by throwing on your check shirt, stop that shaving nonsense and start growing your very own beard.
