The 10 best Irish albums of 2018 according to those judging this year’s RTÉ Choice Music Prize have been announced.

The shortlist was revealed by Tracy Clifford on 2FM on Wednesday afternoon, and the winner will be decided by the public.

Here are the 10 albums that will battle it out for this year’s award:

  • The Academic – Tales From The Backseat
  • Delorentos – True Surrender
  • Just Mustard – Wednesday
  • Kojaque – Deli Daydreams
  • Lisa O’Neil – Heard a Long Gone Song
  • O Emperor – Jason
  • Rejjie Snow – Dear Annie
  • Saint Sister – Shape of Silence
  • Villagers – The Art of Pretending to Swim
  • Wyvern Lingo – Wyvern Lingo

The judges who will make the all important decision for this year’s award are as follows:

  • Louise Cantillon – 4FM
  • Zara Hedderman – Head Stuff
  • Conor McCaffery – Daily Star
  • Mike McGrath-Byrne – Nialler9
  • Danny McElhinney – Irish Daily Mail
  • Cathy Moorehead – Across The Line
  • Ed Smith – Today FM
  • Tara Stewart – 2FM
  • Dean Van Nguyen – Irish Times
  • Stephen White – thelastmixedtape

Tickets for the Choice Music Prize live event are now on sale on Ticketmaster, and are priced €28 including booking fee.

A special television programme of the event will be broadcast shortly afterwards on RTÉ2.

The event is taking place on 7 March in Vicar Street, Dublin.
