Croke Park took in an insane amount of money from Bruce Springsteen’s two gigs in May

That’s why they call him The Boss.

Bruce Springsteen put on two legendary showings in Croke Park earlier on this year to the delight of 160,188 Irish people – including our Taoiseach Enda Kenny, who took a rare moment to let loose

Today, Billboard revealed the massive amount of cash that Croke Park took in over the course of the two gigs back on May 27 and May 29.

“[Springsteen] is also responsible for the single biggest Boxscore so far this year…  the shows at Dublin’s Croke Park taking in $19,228,100 from 160,188 attendance for two sellouts.”

The shows sold out “instantly,” according to Peter Aiken, whose Aiken Promotions has been Springsteen’s promoter in Ireland since 1985. “The Irish people really love him, and it’s just building and building,” Aiken says. “Bruce never phones it in, his shows are 100 percent every time.”

This figure roughly translates to €17.2million, a fairly jaw-dropping figure. There you have it. Bruce Springsteen is a one-man stimulus package.
