Damien Rice announces show in Bord Gais Energy Theatre as part of world tour starting next month

That’s one night and one night only so put the date in the diary folks.

That’s one night and one night only so put the date in the diary folks.

The popular Kildare singer/songwriter will play the Dublin venue on Monday, November 3, as part of a 15-date world tour to mark the launch of his new album, My Favourite Faded Fantasy, which goes on release on October 31.

A limited number of advance tickets for the gig in the Bord Gais Energy Theatre will be available to mailing list subscribers via www.damienrice.com, while a 48-hour pre-sale window will begin on Wednesday, September 17 at 9am before the tickets go on general sale on Friday, September 19 at 9am.

The title track from the new album has been available to stream on Spotify since last Tuesday, while the album itself is currently available to pre-order here.

Despite not being the most prolific of artists – just the three studio albums in over a decade – Rice enjoys huge popularity at home and abroad and will perform in venues across the United States and Europe in a 15-date tour that starts in San Francisco on October 7 and finishes in London on November 7.

We’d predict that demand for the Dublin date will be particularly high so if you’re a fan it might be worth setting the alarm set and having the credit card details handy on Wednesday morning folks.
