Dermot Kennedy Other Voices

The special gig from the incredible singer airs this Thursday. Set record.

2019 has been a sensational year for Dublin singer Dermot Kennedy as his debut album Without Fear hit the number one spot in Ireland and the UK.

However, it’s arguable that the ‘Outnumbered’ singer will be just as proud to know that he graced the Other Voices stage, too.

Why? Well, that accolade is only given to a select few artists who really stand above the rest of the crowd.

Amy Winehouse, Bell X1, Damien Rice, Florence + the Machine, Hozier, John Grant, Rusango Family, Savages, Sinéad O’Connor, Snow Patrol, St. Vincent, The National, Villagers, and Young Fathers are just some of the incredible artists that have previously graced the Other Voices stage, and having seen this brief highlight reel of Kennedy in full flow, he certainly belongs in that esteemed company.

As mentioned previously, the Other Voices special will feature an eclectic mix of performances from the singer that he belted out on Other Voices stages over the years.

OV first welcomed Kennedy to St. James’ Church in Dingle in 2017 and the special will feature Kennedy’s turns in Kerry, his time as a special guest at the Other Voices stage at Electric Picnic 2019, and his most recent turn in Berlin this July.

Aside from hearing tunes from his debut album, Fight Like Apes and Le Galaxie vocalist MayKay will also be interviewing the Dubliner where he’ll be speaking about his career to date.

The Other Voices Dermot Kennedy Special will air on RTÉ 2 at 11.30pm on Thursday 24 October.

Take a look at what’s in store.
