Early indicators for Electric Picnic weather are not good

You might need your thermal gear at Electric Picnic this year.

The Carlow Weather service has warned that the current outlook for Electric Picnic isn’t looking too hot.

Latest indications for #ElectricPicnic are not looking great with unsettled weather as Jet Stream pushes back over Ireland,” the service reported on Saturday morning.

An earlier forecast by Carlow Weather had also said that festival-goers would need “thermals.”

However, the page was quick to note that it’s too far out to make any concrete predictions just yet, and that the above forecast is subject to change.

Met Éireann isn’t offering a forecast for that far in the future yet, but they have said next week should be “cooler” and “unsettled.” The UK’s MetCheck website also forecasts that the jet stream will totally cover Ireland on Friday 30 August, which is the first day of EP.

Either way, it doesn’t look like EP will be getting the blast of summer sunshine that we’re enjoying this weekend. Still, it’s too early to know for sure, we’re just giving you the early heads up.

Electric Picnic 2019 is sold out, and will take place between 30 August and 1 September.
