A time for revellers, spirits, the potential dampening thereof and ultimate defiance in the face of such a scenario.
Perhaps you’re just back from All Together Now and are recovering from a long weekend of live music, spoken word and the like.
Maybe you’ve been hitting up European cities instead this year.
In any case, we’ve never been so spoiled for choice on the festival front.
Stradbally spectacular Electric Picnic remains one of the elite, and with an increase in capacity this year you can expect yet another packed weekend when it returns at the end of August.
One thing that generally always draws a big crowd is the Throwback Stage; home to nostalgia and more than a few power-pop anthems.
As such, many will greet the news that ’80s icon Bonnie Tyler is returning to the festival to headline said stage with much rejoicing.
She won’t be alone either, as the Throwback Stage will also play host to wildly enthusiastic fitness instructor Mr. Motivator.
If that wasn’t enough, Cork dance-comedy outfit Lords of Strut will also perform.
“After an epic show in 2014 they’re bringing me back!” announced Tyler on Tuesday.
“I’m ‘between the earth and the stars’ with excitement to return to Electric Picnic this year. Irish people have always been among my favourite crowds and I’m sure the Electric Ireland Throwback Stage is going to be no different.
“Being the queen of the power ballad, I’m looking forward to bringing stacks of energy to Stradbally.”
The festival is long sold out by now, so if you’re heading along, get practicing…
