Electric Picnic confirms their summer date for 2014

If anyone calls it Leckie Picnic we'll punch you in your facey-wacey.

If you’re stuck for ideas for Christmas presents this year, the organisers of Electric Picnic 2014 have just the ticket.

A nice €10 book token.

As well as a nice €10 book token though, they’d probably suggest two tickets to next year’s super Stradbally songfest.

The organisers have just announced that Electric Picnic 2014 will take place on the last weekend in August from Friday 29th to Sunday 31st at Stradbally Hall in Co. Laois, with early bird tickets going on sale on Monday December 2nd.

Promoters POD have also announced that regular EP punters will “Get discounts for your loyalty. We love our Picnic fans and want those that have been before to be rewarded. You deserve it! Electric Picnic 2014 reward scheme tickets go on sale December 2. If you’ve been to the Picnic before we will ask you to prove it to avail of this scheme.”

According to a report in The Irish Independent, next year’s Picnic will also have a bigger capacity, with festival director Melvin Benn revealing that he wanted to increase the numbers at the festival in 2014 by a further 5,000 to 40,000 people.

As long as there’s an available toilet for JOE whenever JOE needs a bit of JOE-time, Melvin can do whatever the hell he likes.

The announcement of the line-up for the festival will take place at Easter next year so start counting down the days now. Here at JOE HQ we’ve got everything crossed for a Celine Dion headline gig.

Everything crossed.
