Hozier becomes fourth Irish artist of all time to top US charts

Joseph Loftus

Huge news just in.

Hozier has become the fourth Irish artist ever to have a number one in the US on Billboard’s 100 song charts.

This makes Hozier the first Irish artist since Sinead O’Connor to have a number one in the States.

Hozier’s Too Sweet went from number two to number one in the US, three weeks after debuting at number five.

Too Sweet is the first single from his fifth EP, Unheard, which was released last month.

The track has topped the charts in Ireland, the UK, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada also.

Taking to X, Hozier rejoiced in his successes, writing: “A huge thank you for all the incredible support from around the world. Too Sweet has reached number one in the US, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and for a second week in the UK and Ireland.

“It means the world that you are enjoying this song so much. Thank you all.”

Hozier now joins Sinead O’Connor, U2, and Gilbert O’Sullivan, as the artists who’ve reached number one in the US song charts.

What an achievement for the Bray man.
