Eric Lalor

The best of the live gigs around Ireland this week.

Who: Deacon Blue
Date: November 8th
Where: Olympia Theatre, Dublin

For a while back in the late 80s, Deacon Blue were one of the biggest bands around. Their albums ‘Raintown’ and ‘When The World Knows Your Name’ were massive hits which featured a plethora of hit singles including ‘Dignity’, ‘Chocolate Girl’, ‘Real Gone Kid’ and ‘Wages Day’.

They are in the Olympia on Tuesday night and this is one massive hit you can expect to hear.

Who: Saint Sister
Date: November 9th
Where: The Loft Venue, Galway

Saint Sister are the brainchild of Morgan MacIntyre and Gemma Doherty. A huge hit at Irish music festivals, they are currently on an Irish tour.

Their music draws from early Celtic harp traditions, 60s folk and electronic pop to create ‘atmosfolk’ – a mix of soulful vocal harmonies, dreamy synth and electro-acoustic harp.
