JOE’s New Song of the Day #319: Mark Campbell – ‘City Lights’

Eric Lalor

“There and then I was falling in love…”

Since his arrival on the music scene, Monaghan native Mark Campbell has created a loyal fanbase, both from his YouTube channel where he frequently uploads his original take on cover songs, to his more intimate live shows where he showcases his original body of work.

Over the past year he has embarked on a solo journey of songwriting, leading him throughout venues all around Ireland, culminating in his first international performance at a sold out show in New York City and a recent festival performance at Electric Picnic.

Mark has put the events of his travels into his debut single, ‘City Lights’, which, with its pulsating brass and driving string sound, describes a story of finding love in New York City.

The song, which is produced by Philip Magee (Kodaline, The Script, The Academic), is sure to make those who listen reminisce about past memories of joy, love and finding your own way in the maze of urban city life.

Try to stop your toes from tapping along to this one…
