Ben Sheridan announces his arrival with a strong debut single.
Ben Sheridan, 23, is an emerging Hip-Hop/R’n’B artist from Donegal. Like many other Irish millennials, Ben left Ireland to work abroad. Moving to Toronto, Ben saw his music become heavily influenced by Hip-Hop and R’n’B.
When he returned home to Ireland in late 2017, he was ready to start recording and releasing new material. Bearing a fairly striking resemblance to fellow Donegal man and all-round Irish soccer legend, Seamus Coleman, Ben has released a debut single of great promise.
Not difficult to decipher that Drake has been a big influence on the man from Mountcharles. The video, which was produced by The Five and Six, observes the Groundhog Day-like grind of the struggling artist, whose ambition is dragged into question daily, under the scrutiny of modern society. The opening scene questions the idea of a ‘real job’, asking ‘Is it 9 – 5 to barely get by? Or just another means to bleed another dream dry?’.
