JOE’s Song Of The Day #654: Gerald Ahern ‘Ghost’

Eric Lalor

Gerald Ahern

Gerald Ahern is here with a cool new song and video.

Gerald Ahern is an 18-year-old singer/songwriter from Cork city.

He has been developing his talents from an early age, joining country music group The Wee Amigos at the age of 10 and touring England, Ireland and Scotland for over four years.

The band gained no little recognition, racking up over four million views on their YouTube videos and winning a plethora of awards in the process.

After his experience with The Wee Amigos, Gerald swayed away from the country music scene and went on to join a boy band in Scotland, Rewind. The band worked with the likes of Jess Glynn and Little Mix and wrote with artists such as Bobby Bluebell from The Bluebells. After touring with The Brooks and Bailey McConnell and after an appearance on The X Factor in 2016, Gerald returned home to Ireland.

Since then, he has supported artists like Ryan Sheridan, Picture This, Bagatelle, Colin Raye and many more. Just this year, Gerald played at The Indiependence Music & Arts Festival in Mitchelstown with his band, who are all childhood friends and handy musicians.

His latest effort, ‘Ghost’ is a really good track with a very 80’s electro-pop sound to it. It’s his second single and the follow up to his critically-acclaimed debut single, ‘Fish In The Sky’. He’s certainly one to keep an eye on and has already racked up a lot of experience for one so young.

You can keep track of Gerald and his band via their Facebook page right here.
