JOE’s Song Of The Day #702: FLYNN ‘My Gold’

Eric Lalor

FLYNN

FLYNN going for gold with his new single.

We’re no stranger to FLYNN in these parts. We have featured another song of his before and with good reason. Originally from Mullingar, FLYNN’s passion for music was sparked at an early age.

Aged just 19, he packed his bags and ventured to Bristol where he fell in love with the hip-hop and R&B scene. For years, he played the city’s open mic nights every week to craft his sound. The 26-year-old returned to Ireland in 2016 following a stint in London where he honed his gritty vocals and songwriting.

FLYNN

This is his brand new single and it’s a personal song. He tells us “My Gold is about losing someone that means the world to you, someone as valuable as gold. The song is about a break up that I went through. I could have done more at the time to hold onto the person but I let my work life get in the way and let her slip away, and now I live with the what if’s and the regret of not doing more to make it work.”

2018 has been a good year for FLYNN with memorable live shows at Forbidden Fruit and Longitude. There is more new material on the way and 2019 looks like it could be even bigger and better for the Westmeath man.
