‘I’m not talking to nooobody for a month’

Kanye West has announced he’s going to stop talking – for 30 days.

West, now known as just Ye, used his recently reinstated Twitter account on Thursday – suspended after he posted antisemitic remarks – to announce that he is going to stop drinking, having sex, watching porn and talking.

“I’m not talking to nooobody for a month,” Ye tweeted.

A short statement read: “I’m taking a 30 day cleanse. A verbal fast. No alcohol. No adult films. No intercourse. “In God we praise. Amen.”

But, of course there’s a but. Ye won’t go cold turkey on all comms: “But my Twitter still lit,” he added.

Reports last weekend suggested Ye could face a ‘financial crisis within months’ as doors keep closing on the Donda rapper in the wake of his anti-semitic remarks.

This prompted one fan to start a GoFundMe to make Ye a billionaire again.

After being dumped by Adidas late last month, Forbes reported that Kanye’s net worth plummeted $1.5 billion, to $400 million. Ye later said he dropped $2 billion in a day. GAP, Apple Music, Balenciaga, and even Madam Tussauds, have left West.

Ye’s unravelling began after an appearance on the Drink Champs podcast where he attacked Jewish people and claimed there was nothing he could say to make Adidas drop him.

Prior to that he turned up at his Paris Fashion Week show in a White Lives Matter t-shirt.

Ye also sparked controversy by claiming that George Floyd died from the drug fentanyl and that a police officer’s knee “wasn’t even on his neck like that”. The mother of Floyd’s daughter is now suing Ye for $250m (£224m).

Elon Musk who took over Twitter not long after Ye was back on the platform has said he had nothing to do with the mogul’s return to social media, with his access granted before his acquisition was finalised.
