Met Éireann issues warning for everyone heading to Longitude this weekend

Keep this in mind.

Keep this in mind.

As Longitude 2017 kicks off today, Met Eireann are urging festival-goers to be careful with the weather that’s expected. Highs of 24 degrees are forecast for Saturday, which will make everyone going to the Marlay Park festival very happy.

But, while we all enjoy the hot weather, especially for an outdoor event, it’s important to be prepared and wear sun cream.

Speaking to The Sun, a representative for Met Eireann said: “Gig-goers should definitely bring sun tan lotion as we believe the sunburn index will be high.

“Tomorrow will be muggy and close at Longitude. It will be fairly fine into the evening.

“Sunday will be a warm, dry sunny day, maybe not as warm but a bright, fresh day all the same.”

Along with your sun cream, it’s also very important that you stay hydrated and take breaks from the sun throughout the weekend. Especially after a few drinks.

Also, bear in mind that you won’t be allowed to enter with any bag bigger than an A4 size (21cm x 29.7cm).
