Metallica’s Lars Ulrich is up for drum battle challenge with Will Ferrell and Chad Smith

Joe Harrington

Please let this happen…

One of the best things to happen on TV this year was Will Ferrell and Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Chad Smith’s drum-off challenge on Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show in the States. The only way to improve on that is to do it again but add another legend to the mix.

Metallica’s Lars Ulrich was called out by Will Ferrell when he spoke to Spin: “I mean, we did talk about another drum-off… with a third person that looks eerily similar to Chad and I. A third drummer out there … Lars Ulrich gets pissed because he gets mistaken for both me and Chad Smith. He can settle that score now, too.”

The Metallica legend has responded and he told Spin that he’s well up for it: “As for any further drum-offs, I’m sure that with a bit of practice, I could give Chad a run for his money. But Will? That’s a whole different story.

“He rules the “bad-ass drummer universe.” I mean, you’re talking about a guy who’s so next level, actually, so beyond next level, that he may just be completely unreachable! That said, I’m definitely up for the challenge…Bring it on!!!”

This is going to be awesome….
