We’re not sure how they’re going to recreate essence of Boyle but they’re going to give it a go…

Moone Boy has been a roaring success since it appeared on our screens just over two years ago. We love it and we reckon you love it but the critics also love it as it’s picked up an International Emmy, a British Comedy Award and an IFTA in the last 18 months.

Like so many successful shows from the UK and Ireland, the Americans have decided to have a look to see if they can do something with it. For some reason they feel they can pull of a US adaptation of the show that’s based in the Roscommon town of Boyle. Of course they can.

Deadline.com are reporting that TV Network ABC have sanctioned a pilot for the planned series with Chris O’Dowd staying involved as a writer and an executive producer.

The Office worked really well but The Inbetweeners US was so bad we washed our eyes out with soap afterwards and the stinging pain was actually easier to handle than the show. Don’t watch it.

Fingers crossed for Moone Boy USA.
