Nick Cave leads star-studded National Concert Hall 60th birthday bash for Shane MacGowan

A galaxy of stars will celebrate a legend.

A mouthwatering line-up will assemble in the National Concert Hall to pay tribute to Shane MacGowan in honour of his 60th birthday.

The Pogues leader turns 60 on Christmas Day, but the party will be in full swing on January 15 as an incredible chorus of guests take to the stage to celebrate the life and times of an Irish icon.

As for the list of names performing on the night, deep breath…

Nick Cave, Bobby Gillespie, Glen Hansard, Camille O’Sullivan, Johnny Depp, Cerys Matthews, Carl Barat, Lisa O’Neill, Finbar Furey, Glen Matlock, Clem Burke, whenyoung, Pogues members Cáit O’Riordan, Spider Stacy, Jem Finer and, but of course, Shane MacGowan himself.

RTE presenter John Kelly will MC the night, as part of the National Concert Hall’s Perspectives series.
