Not long to wait now…

Other Voices will be temporarily moving away from their home in Dingle to Stradbally next week for Electric Picnic and they will be bringing some great music with them.

Other Voices has always prided itself on bringing music fans the very best in Irish and International acts and Electric Picnic goers are in for a treat.

Mirel Wagner from Helsinki, Tiny Ruins from New Zealand and Armagh’s own Silences are the first few acts that have been announced.

Finnish folk singer Wagner has earned universal praise for her debut album ‘When the Cellar Children See the Light Of Day’ and her haunting and melodic voice should be popular with festival goers.

New Zealand blues rockers Tiny Ruins have already been making waves over the past three years after opening for artists like Beach House and Fleet Foxes and they are sure to impress.

The main attraction for local music fans though will be Armagh band Silences who have already drawn comparisons with Jeff Buckley.

The five-piece band led by singer Conchúr White have already had their single ‘Santa Cruz’ played on BBC Radio 1 and festival fans can see them up close and personal in Laois.

Other Voices has helped launch the career of artists like Amy Winehouse, Elbow, The National, Damien Rice, Snow Patrol and many others and their stage will undoubtedly have some of the best new music around.

JOE will keep you up to date with all the latest announcements and Electric Picnic news as the festival draws closer.
