JOE’s Song Of The Day #860 – Pillow Queens ‘Brothers’

Dave Hanratty

Pillow Queens Song Of The Day

A fraternal belter.

One of the hardest-working bands around, Pillow Queens are gearing up to release their hotly-anticipated debut album in 2020.

2019, meanwhile, has been another busy year for the Dublin-based quartet, earning a Choice Music Prize Song of the Year nomination for breakout track ‘Gay Girls’, touring with the likes of SOAK and Two Door Cinema Club and most recently turning heads at the Iceland Airwaves festival.

In between, there’s been a handful of singles, the latest of which, ‘Brothers’, speaks to the importance of cherishing and loving the men in your life.

“It touches on a shared grief which drives you to hold dear the memories and moments you have with each other,” notes a band communiqué.

“While this song can be considered one about mourning, its ultimately about the intense love you have for your chosen family.”
