The disgraced singer has been denied bail as he faces a number of different charges.
R. Kelly's lawyers have reportedly demanded bail for the 52-year-old because he can't see two girlfriends in jail.
Kelly is currently facing charges in New York of racketeering, kidnapping, forced labor and sexual exploitation of a child.
According to
CNN, a motion filed by attorney Steven Greenberg in US District Court in New York Monday complains that the singer is only allowed one unrelated person to visit.
The motion reads:
"His visits are severely restricted; presently, he is only allowed one unrelated person to visit.
"In other words, although he lives and has lived with two lady friends, only one of them is allowed to be on his visiting list, and after 90 days he is required to switch.
"No other friends or professional colleagues are allowed to visit. That is not right."
Kelly has pleaded not guilty to all the charges against him, and he was denied bail following a court hearing in July.
Brooklyn U.S. District Judge Ann Donnelly is expected to hear this motion Wednesday.
The allegations made against Kelly span over 25 years, but were brought to the forefront after the release of the documentary Surviving R. Kelly, which was recently uploaded to Netflix.
