Meet the UK's new queen of hip-hop, Lady Leshurr. The last year has seen the Birmingham-based rapper making major waves online with her razor sharp lyrics and powerful vocals.

As part of the brilliant new Guinness 'Legacies' series, which focuses on the trail-blazing work of 1930s music producer,
John Hammond, Lady Leshurr is highlighting the power of music and lyrics to drive social change.
Working in New York during the 1930s, a pre-Civil Rights Movement era when racial tensions were high, John Hammond played a pivotal role in bringing together black and white musicians.
He was instrumental in discovering musicians who became famous for using music for social good and change. These artists include the likes of Billie Holiday, Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan.
In the video below, Lady Leshurr reflects on how music was a force for change in her life, and why she uses lyrics to relate to an audience and contemporary culture often overlooked by mainstream artists and the media.
