After being whittled down from a list of hundreds of brilliant bands, Corner Boy, Touchwood and Aces Wild will battle it out in a bid to be crowned the 2013 Red Bull Bedroom Jam champions.

It’s been a long road but the wait is finally over as Corner Boy, Touchwood and Aces Wild have earned their place on this year’s festival circuit and will battle it out in the final to become 2013 Red Bull Bedroom Jam champions.

After winning over the Buzz Chart and Festival Chart, the bands will now go on to perform at one of Castlepalooza, Westport Festival and Glasgowbury before sharing a stage together at Indiependence in Cork.

After that, the three bands will face in the live final in Whelan’s later in August, where our judges Nialler9, Spin 103.8’s Dara Quilty and Glasgowbury founder Paddy Glasgow will decide who is worthy of a recording session in the famous Grouse Lodge studios and the chance to follow in the footsteps of last year’s winners Walking On Cars.

Commiserations are due to the three worthy competitors Red Elephant, Don’t Shoot and Bang Bang. who helped make up an incredibly strong festival chart, but for the rest of the summer it’s all about three bands.

If you haven’t already heard of them, or if you have but you need a reminder, here’s a little bit more information on all three finalists and what brought them so far in the first place.

For more about the Festival Chart check out the Red Bull Bedroom Jam website.

Aces Wild

Cork five piece Aces Wild were the first band through on the Buzz Chart way back in April thanks to their polished funk-rock anthem ‘Kids On Bikes And Flashing Lights’. The band are only two years old but they’ve already found their sound and if their Bedroom Jam session is anything to go by they’re sure to rip it up on the festival stages this summer.

Week three of the Bedroom Jam brought us a real gem in the shape of Wexford’s Corner Boy, whose catchy take on trad and folk saw them through.
Just listen to the band’s session and you’ll hear how perfect their sound is for an early evening festival set.

Touchwood

The last band through on the Buzz Chart but by no means the least talented, Touchwood blew through the competition with their big pop sound.

They’re no newcomers when it comes to the big stages having already supported Kodaline this summer and they’re sure to win over more fans when they take to the festivals.
