New music on the way from the Irish star.

Some good news to brighten up your weekend as we’ve gotta tell you (sorry) that pop sensation Samantha Mumba is mounting a musical comeback.

A regular fixture back in the Top 30 Hits days (the preferred pre-YouTube and Spotify platform of choice), the Dublin native traded a promising music career for acting and TV presenting following a string of hits in the early 2000s.

Mumba only released one studio album proper – 2000’s Gotta Tell You – along with a Christmas EP in 2001 and a greatest hits package in 2006.

But now she’s back like a phoenix from the flames as she looks to deliver some new tunes in 2019.

The Official Charts website lists a new album due to arrive this year, with Mumba having penned a new record deal with Warner-Chappell.

She has collaborated with English producer MNEK (who has worked with Madonna, Dua Lipa, Zara Larsson and many more) with the lead single expected in the first quarter of 2019.

“Timing is everything,” noted Mumba on Instagram.

“I’m really proud of the songs we’ve written/recorded so far. I’m a woman on a mission. Can’t wait for you to hear them.”
