After stealing the show at Electric Picnic, The Story of Hip Hop is coming to Longitude

One of the chief highlights of Electric Picnic 2017 was The Story of Hip Hop.

Backed by Mo K and the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, the unique fixture brought together rappers Mango and Jafaris alongside Jess Kav and Erica Cody to bring people on a journey through prominent hip hop.

14,000 people packed themselves into the Rankin’s Wood tent on day one of the festival as those assembled onstage played tunes from the likes of DMX, Dr. Dre, Eminem, Amerie, Missy Elliott, Tupac, Nelly, Beyoncé and Eve.

Suffice to say, it went down a storm, quickly becoming one of the most well-received and talked-about highlights of the whole weekend.

So we welcome the news that they’re going to do it all over again, this time at the upcoming Longitude Festival.

Longitude takes place next weekend – 13 – 15 July – in Marlay Park with the likes of J. Cole, Travis Scott, Post Malone, Migos and Solange on the bill.

The Story of Hip Hop, meanwhile, will reunite the crew from Electric Picnic on Sunday at the festival.

You’d be a fool to miss out.
