Closing out a whirlwind year in style…

Westmeath boys-done-good The Academic will round off a highly successful 2018 with another big Dublin show.

It’s been all systems go since the release of debut album Tales From The Backseat in January – and even before that thanks to some neat viral trickery – with a Rolling Stones support slot in Croke Park and a summer sellout in Iveagh Gardens taking the Mullingar outfit from strength to strength.

Now comes the news that The Academic will take to the stage at Dublin’s famous Vicar Street on Saturday 15 December, marking their final major live engagement of the year.

“Vicar Street is like our spiritual home, it is our favourite venue in the country,” says singer Craig Fitzgerald.

“We have been out of the country for most of the year, travelling all over the world playing shows but we always had it in our head to make sure we could get a show in at Vicar Street before the end of the year for all the Irish fans. There is no place like it, it is going to be a big night.”

Tickets priced €25 including booking fee go on sale via Ticketmaster and usual outlets nationwide this Friday 24 August at 9am.
