Their new tour kicked off with a bang in Oklahoma.
U2 began their latest tour – The eXPERIENCE + iNNOCENCE tour – in Tulsa in Oklahoma on Wednesday night, and by all accounts, it was one hell of a night.
With no support act to get the crowd warmed up, Bono and co. took to the stage and played a three-hour set which was made mostly made up a their more recent hits.
Off the back of their most recent tour, it was noted that not a single track from The Joshua Tree was played on the night.
The 27-song long playlist was accompanied by the now-standard, mind-blowing U2 audio and visual cutting edge technology, of which you can see some of here, during the band’s opening number, ‘Love Is All We Have Left’.

They’ll be bringing the tour to Ireland this November, and if the Tulsa crowd reaction was anything to go by, it’ll be the must-see gig of the year:

#U2eiTour is to music what Avatar was to cinema. As an experience it's that good!

The U2 show tonight was amazing, visually and sonically. Props to the band, Willie Williams, Joe O’Herlihy, and everyone involved with U2. The line between the band in this video and the one now on tour is unbroken. And that’s not easy. #U2Tulsa #U2 #experiencetour https://t.co/VYdovLUdvn

Amazing @U2 show tonight in Tulsa. Not sure how many people in attendance realize that Acrobat had never been performed in public prior to tonight. Speechless. pic.twitter.com/5fYO7Pa8Ux
