Wow.
Aretha Franklin is known as the Queen of Soul and once you’ve witnessed her sublime performance of (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman at the Annual Kennedy Center Honors earlier this month, you’ll know that she has that title for a damn good reason.
Franklin rolled out one of her golden oldies and an all-time classic at the awards, which took place on December 6 but were broadcast on US TV last night and the audience responded fittingly to a masterful performance and one of the best voices ever to strike a note.
The composer of the song, Carole King, could barely contain herself so moved was she by Franklin’s performance while the US President himself, Barack Obama, danced along and even wiped away a tear at one stage.
