VIDEO: These Maynooth students singing the USA national anthem at Fenway Park will turn you into a patriotic American

Carl Kinsella

USA! USA! USA!

Obesity, gun violence, Donald Trump… sometimes it’s easy to look across the pond and think ‘what the hell are those guys playing at?’

But even with all that in mind, we simply cannot deny that they’ve got themselves a barn-storming national anthem in ‘The Star-Spangled Banner.’

The tune is often belted out by celebrities ahead of every single major American sporting event, but this rendition at an empty Fenway Park (where the Boston Red Sox play their home games) by four Irish lads from the Maynooth University Chamber Choir genuinely might be the best rendition that we’ve ever heard.

Listen here and feel your blood run red, white and blue for all of one minute and 22 seconds:

Thanks to Kevin Sheedy for sending this in.

Saying a very special farewell after a successful gig at the home of the Boston Red Sox. Next stop Shanghai
