WATCH: Kilkenny woman sings very emotional version of Prince's 'Purple Rain' in Cork

A lovely rendition of an icon's classic.

The world of music and beyond are still coming to terms with the death of Prince. His songs inspired generations and tributes have been paid on a massive scale since his passing.

With that in mind, JOE reader Robert O'Neill sent us this wonderful clip of Shóna Lanigan, a Kilkenny native who performed a terrific version of one of Prince's most widely known hits, 'Purple Rain' in Cork's Cyprus Avenue.

When we got in touch with Shóna, who is a music teacher in Carlow, she declared her love for Prince, saying that this is one of her favourite songs.
