The Edinburgh trio have picked up one of the biggest prizes in music...

Young Fathers have been named as the winners of this year's Mercury Music Prize. The band's album 'Dead' has beaten off some tough competition to pick up the prestigious award which has been previously won by Alt-J, Arctic Monkeys and James Blake. Young Fathers have been together since they were teenagers and sound like hip-hop, pop, rock and African music on top of some electronica, it's pretty unique. Also nominated were FKA twigs, East India Youth, Bombay Bicycle Club, Anna Calvi, Nick Mulvey, Go Go Penguin, Jungle, Damon Albarn, Polar Bear, Kate Tempest and Royal Blood.
