Your lyrics could feature in a future Kanye West song

JOE

A charity compilation album featuring Kanye West and Mumford & Sons will be made up of songs based on fan-inspired lyrics.

Spearheaded by Mumford member Ben Lovett, the record, which is being made for the charity Global Citizen, will take submissions up until March 31, before Yeezy and friends take over and turn the lyrics into original songs.

‘Metamorphoses’ will feature 12 tracks and also has Ellie Goulding and The National on board. The remaining artists are due to be announced shortly.

In a press release, Lovett said: “In my own life, I’ve experienced people trying to define me and put me in boxes and categories. Through collaboration we can show people how those lines can be blurred and are ultimately redundant. The artists involved in this project are some of the most genuine artists the world has to offer.

“Artists like Kanye West, and The National are doing something globally important that is touching people down to their DNA. And these masterfully creative people are going to be interpreting incredible submissions from people across the globe. It has been a joy reading all of the submissions we received over the past six months. I’m truly excited to see what we will create together.”

The one-of-a-kind album is due to be released later in 2016, so get your thinking hats on and your deep and contemplative musings could make it to a headline stage. Just remember Kanye’s two golden rules and you’ll be fine.

You can submit your lyrics to Global Citizen here.
