Police have said that two people are in critical condition and no arrests have been made, although one person has been detained.
The shooting took place at 3.20am local time in the busy area of Canal Street, which is located in New Orleans’ French Quarter.
The New Orleans Police Department shared the news on their Twitter page, while asking the public for any information they may have in relation to the incident.

It has been reported that police quickly responded to the scene as patrols were heightened for a big football game in the area.
