Met Éireann has issued a warning ahead of the Easter weekend

The Easter weekend is set to be a washout, according to a new warning from Met Éireann.

A Status Yellow rain warning has been issued for Cork and Kerry from 11 pm tonight until 12 noon on March 31st.

A yellow rain alert will also be issued for Carlow, Dublin, Kilkenny, Louth, Wexford, Wicklow, and Waterford from 6 am on March 31st until 6 am on Saturday, 4th.

Separately, a yellow rain alert will be valid for Carlow, Dublin, Kilkenny, Louth, Wexford, Wicklow, and Waterford from 6 am tomorrow until 6 am on Saturday.

A yellow rain warning has also been issued for Galway and Mayo from 6 am until 9 pm tomorrow, March 31st.

Met Éireann meteorologist, Matthew Martin, warned: “High pressure will establish across Ireland in the run up to Easter, allowing a spell of settled weather lasting until the first half of Easter Sunday.

Met Éireann has also warned of wintry showers of hail, sleet, and snow on Easter Monday and Easter Tuesday. Temperatures are expected to be around 3 to 7 degrees Celsius.
