Four people arrested following €2.8 million cocaine seizure in Dublin

€50,000 in cash was recovered in a related search in Meath.

Three men and one woman have been arrested following an operation by An Garda Síochána that led to the seizure of a large quantity of suspected cocaine with an approximate street value of €2.8 million.

Gardaí from the Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau, supported by the Special Crime Task Force, targeting organised criminal activity in the Dublin and Meath regions, intercepted two vehicles in a car park at Liffey Valley in Dublin at approximately 7.10pm on Thursday 6 December.

A large quantity of suspected cocaine with an approximate street value of €2.8 million was seized and three men and one woman –  all in their 40s – were arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking offences.

Cash totalling approximately €50,000 has also been recovered in a follow-up search at a residence in County Meath.

Those arrested are currently being detained at Clondalkin, Ballyfermot and Lucan Garda stations under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.

Investigations are ongoing.
