Five people were rescued and it is believed up to 20 others are still missing.
20 African migrants have been found dead after a boat bound for Europe sank in the Mediterranean Sea.
According to Associated Press, 20 bodies were found by coast guard boats and local fishermen off the coast of the city of Sfax in Tunisia on Thursday (24 December).
Tunisian authorities told Associated Press that the smuggling boat was trying to reach Europe when it sank. It is believed to have been carrying up to 50 people and was headed towards Italy.
Five people have been rescued and searches are continuing for up to 20 more people by the Tunisian navy.
