The latest vaccine figures have been released.

236,996 doses of Covid vaccine have been administered in Ireland.

As of Saturday (6 February), 152,652 people have received their first dose, while 84,344 people have received their second dose of the vaccine.

The number of people who have received the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine is 235,103, while 1,893 people had got the Moderna vaccine by Saturday.

Based on these figures, approximately 3.1% of the country has received its first dose of the vaccine.

Earlier in the week, the HSE confirmed that Ireland will slow down its vaccine rollout this week, with less doses to be given out over the next seven days than planned.

The plan is to give around 29,000 vaccinations this week, 17,000 less than the planned 46,000 at the beginning of last week.

15,000 vaccinations will be given to frontline healthcare workers.

5,000 vaccines will be given to GPs, with the HSE saying: “These will be key vaccinators in the community.”

Tuesday saw 68 further Covid-19 deaths confirmed, as well as 556 new cases.
