There’s another Irish city on the list too. Great day for the parish.

Airbnb has revealed its top trending destinations for Irish travellers this summer and Kilkenny tops the list. The Marble City is the most popular location in Europe after it beat out some other favourites, with the highest guest arrival growth of 144%.

Trending destinations are calculated by looking at year-on-year growth in guest arrivals for summer 2019 (June 1 – Sept 4) versus summer 2018 (June 2 – Sept 5) with a minimum of 50 bookings.

While it doesn’t have palm trees, blue seas, and tropical weather, Kilkenny does have plenty of heritage, beautiful scenery and one of the most popular festivals in Ireland.

Nerja in Spain, Dubrovnik in Croatia and Naples in Italy are some of the sunnier destinations that feature on the list.

For those looking to explore a new city; Lisbon in Portugal, Split in Croatia, Vienna in Austria, and Krakow in Poland are all popular with Airbnb users. If you’re looking for an adventure that’s closer to home, Belfast also made the grade.

Here are the most popular trending destinations on Airbnb for Irish travellers this summer.

Kilkenny (+144%)

Naples, Italy (+114%)

Vienna, Austria (+88%)

Belfast, Northern Ireland (+87%)

Split, Croatia (+81%)

Lisbon Portugal (+65%)
