A devastated O’Driscoll keeps his head held high

You would need to be living under a rock not to be aware that Brian O’Driscoll has been left out of the Lions squad, but he has still showed true class.

The reaction has been nothing short of staggering as Warren Gatland has chosen to omit the Ireland centre and one of the Lions greatest ever servants on what would have been his final appearance in red.

The Lions boss has said it was a difficult decision and that the player was disappointed – an understatement if ever we heard it – but O’Driscoll was quick to show support for his team-mates for what has to be one of the most disappointing days in his career.

O’Driscoll put the disappointment to one side as he took a training session today with a group of children in Noosa, happily signing autograpghs for the youngsters despite his obvious disappointment.

Whatever about Gatland, in BOD we trust.
