You cannot accuse him of going for the populist opinions.
It seems that when Ger Brennan isn’t playing football for Dublin, he is off somewhere dividing opinions amongst people.
He came to the nation’s attention recently just before the Marriage Equality referendum when he became one of the most high profile people to advocate the No vote.
His latest move is going to cause a little stir too with news that the St Vincent’s man has recently become a member of the Fianna Fáil party.
The Irish Times are reporting that he is being considered as a candidate for the party in the Dublin Central constituency. The reaction on Twitter has been lukewarm at best:
Scarlet for Ger Brennan. Scarlet for Fianna Fail. Super scarlet for Bertie Ahern. @AverilPower had the right idea, as will the electorate.

Nice to see Ger Brennan in FF; after his spectacularly incoherent interview ahead of the last referendum he clearly fits right in with them.
