A flight from London to Dublin has been grounded due to an on-flight protest.
An Aer Lingus flight from London City Airport to Dublin on Thursday morning has been grounded due to “disruptive behaviour” by a climate change protester.
Aer Lingus have confirmed that flight EI283 from London to Dublin was grounded, and that a male passenger was removed due to “disruptive behaviour on board”.
Videos of the man in question have been posted on social media, which show him holding up a mobile phone while flight attendants attempt to get him to return to his seat.
After the flight was grounded, a full security check of the aircraft was completed prior to the flight departing.
The flight has since taken off again, departing at 11.16am, and is scheduled to arrive in Dublin at 12.37pm.
In a statement issued to JOE, Aer Lingus said: “The safety and security of our guests and crew is our number one priority and as a result, a full security check of the aircraft was completed prior to the flight departing.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
This incident comes after a number large climate change demonstrations have recently taken place in several countries around the world.
