We just can’t get a break…

Ophelia finally passed over Ireland in the early hours of Tuesday morning, leaving behind a trail of destruction and damages costing hundreds of million.

An estimated 245,000 people are without power in Ireland but the ESB have warned that it could be days before power is restored to all customers. They have cited Storm Darwin which hit Ireland in February 2014, when it took up to eight days to return power to all customers.

Now, it’s predicted that another storm could strike Ireland and the UK this weekend.

On Friday and Saturday, we could be welcoming… Storm Brian, according to TV3 Weather Presenter Deric Ó hArtagáin.

While there’s no word about the potential storm from Met Éireann, but weather projections from WX Charts and Magic Seaweed do suggest very strong winds will hit Ireland on Friday and Saturday.

RTÉ did warn on Monday night that we can expect heavy rain on Friday with a risk of flooding in some areas.

Below is a projection from WX Charts of 6pm on Friday.

Similarly, Magic Seaweed shows an almost identical outlook for the same time on Friday.

Below is the projection of 3am on Saturday.
