Airline surprises passengers in a fantastically festive way

Prepare to have your Christmas cockles warmed...

Although this is essentially one huge PR marketing campaign for WestJet Airlines, it’s still an absolutely brilliant video.

Prepare to have your Christmas cockles warmed…

The Canadian airline recently set up a virtual Santa Claus booth in one of their departure lounges and, while a flight-full of passengers were waiting to board, encouraged each of the travellers to wish for their own special Christmas gift.

Unbeknownst to the lucky fliers, as the plane travelled towards its destination, WestJet employees frantically rushed to the shops to purchase all of the chosen gifts, so that the presents would be ready and waiting as the plane touched down.

The passengers were then taken to a special baggage claim, where personalised packages containing the gifts they had asked for — which ranged from big-screen TVs to electronic tablets to return flights home — filled a conveyor belt.

While it seems that everyone got exactly what they wished for, we’d say that the poor lad who requested new pants and socks must be absolutely livid.
