Aldi announces details of extended opening hours over Christmas week

Aldi stores across the country will be opening earlier and closing later.

Aldi Ireland has announced it is extending the opening hours of its 149 Irish stores in the run-up to Christmas.

It said the move is to ensure shoppers can pick up all their Christmas essentials at a time that suits them best.

During Christmas week, the vast majority of Aldi stores across the country will be open from 8am to 11pm.

That said, the supermarket giant has also said opening hours will vary for a small number of locations and urged customers to check their local store for details on Aldi’s website here.

The chain has also confirmed it will maintain its tradition of keeping all stores shut on St Stephen’s Day as a thank you to its staff for their hard work throughout the year.

“It’s important to us that our customers get even more time to stock up on all the essentials they need for Christmas this year,” Aldi Group Managing Director Niall O’Connor said in a statement.

“We are extending our opening hours to make sure more shoppers can avail of our unbeatable range and prices and conveniently pick up everything they need this Christmas.

“Our stores will be fully stocked with daily deliveries and so customers can rest assured they will find everything they need for a special Christmas at Aldi.”
