Very sad news.
An elderly woman has died following a house fire in Wexford.
Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of the fatal house fire that occurred at a house in Ballyeden, Davidstown near Enniscorthy on Tuesday 10 December.
The incident occurred shortly before 7am on Tuesday morning.
A woman in her 80s was fatally injured in the fire and was pronounced dead at the scene.
A male in his 40s was taken to Wexford General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The scene has been preserved for a technical examination.
The cause of the fire is not thought to be suspicious at this time.
