You’ll be able to hear it all the way to Iceland.

Slight exaggeration that may be, but we’re sure it’s going to be pretty loud down at the Docks in Galway on Monday afternoon. The judging panel for the 2020 European Capital of Culture are currently in the City of the Tribes and a co-ordinated Viking Clap - made famous by the Iceland team and their supporters during Euro 2016 - is just one of the ways the committee behind Galway’s bid will be looking to impress them during their stay out west. https://twitter.com/JohnKeoghs/status/752481514689101824 Limerick and the Three Sisters (Kilkenny, Waterford and Wexford) are also up for consideration for the 2020 Capital of Culture, with the winner (or winners) set to be announced on Friday.
